The Authentic Chinese Books refer to the Chinese texts which originated before the imperial unification by the Qin Dynasty in 221 BC. These were paper books written before 1912, by Chinese people in the Chineses language and printed in China. The "Four Books and Five Classics" of the Neo-Confucian tradition are the most well known of these texts.
